Although I did not find the answer to all of my questions, it gave me new insight in our imagination. We, you and I, use our brain to imagine how happy we would feel in the future. We do this based on what we feel today, our memory of similar experiences and try to project that into the future. The book shows that we are pretty bad at it. jump for joy Our memory fails to give us the complete film on events from the past. We remember the ending better than the beginning and the middle for example.

Vacation without wifi and internet, a blessing or a curse?

When I started my business I wanted to be able to work anywhere and from home. If your business is set up this way, you can work anywhere and any time. Also during your vacation, but should you?

Last week we were in Austria for some days of vacation.

wifi at your vacation

We had a beautiful appartement in Oberau – haus Astoria. Sonja, the owner, was really helpful. I misplaced (lost) my Wildschönau card, that gave me access to the lifts, and she replaced it the next morning.

Grow is my theme for 2012

One word to describe what your focus is going to be for the coming year. For me this really helped the last year. One word to remind yourself everyday what your focus is. One word you can use to say Yes or No to new projects.

Grow

Last year I found this blog post by Mari Smith on her One-Word Theme for 2011, Commitment. I saw the potential of this one word theme.

International
My one-word theme for 2011 was: International. I thought I wrote a blog post about it, but I can’t find it.

International
My overall theme for 2011 is international.

One of my long term goals is, international paid speaking gigs. This way I can meet people from all kinds of cultures and learn. Also it will give me the possibility to do video interviews with entrepreneurs that make a difference from all over the world. With these video’s I want to create an online inspiration magazine.

SOBCon
Last year Liz Strauss gave me the opportunity to participate in a panel at SOBCon in Chicago. The panel was moderated by Becky McCray and Sheila Scarborough, they started Tourism Currents at SOBCon 2009 and made it profitable in the first month after the launch.

The panel was about starting your business, “A Business is Born and Branded”. The photo is me out of my comfort zone in 2010 at the SOBCon panel 🙂
